On Yahoo Finance you can look at financial data for almost all companies whose shares are traded on US exchanges. There are six pages for each company: a Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow statement for (a) past five quarters and (b) past four years. There is also a Statistics page which has useful data. In the past I have used software to import these into a spreadsheet (first with C# and then with VBA). This was possible because each page had a unique, formatted URL. I could input a list of ticker symbols, click once and have a spreadsheet with financial info on each company whose ticker was in the list.
Recently, Yahoo Finance changed the pages in such a way that there is no longer a unique URL. For example, financial data for IBM all comes from one page: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/IBM/financials?p=IBM
I have written a fair amount of code over the years, and have adapted it successfully each time Yahoo changed their presentation schema, but I am essentially an amateur with quite limited knowledge, and I cannot figure out a way to automate importing this data to Excel.
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could just point me in the right direction to figure out an approach; or tell me that it is no longer possible.
